In 2018, Rafael began his coaching career with Soccer in the Streets, coaching U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19 select teams for 5 years. He then moved on to coach at UFA for 2 years, where his U16 select teams recently won the NTH Classic Tournament. In 2023, Rafael served as the boys head coach at Decatur High School.

Rafael currently holds a US Soccer “B” coaching license and his passion for coaching has led him to attend the USC National Conventions for the past four years, where he has gained additional diplomas and certifications. His coaching style reflects his South American roots, emphasizing a tough and competitive style of play that controls the opponent and maintains possession with a solid defense.

Rafael’s team philosophy is based on respect, values, and principles, emphasizing order and attention to detail to achieve the best results for his players. With his wealth of experience and dedication to the sport, Rafael is an asset to any team at FC Sudamerica.
