Cumming, GA – March 2025 – Nino Hernández, born in Medellín, Colombia, is a retired semi professional goalkeeper with a remarkable 20-year career. Known for his agility, leadership, and exceptional shot-stopping ability, Nino graced the fields of multiple countries, including Colombia, Mexico, Honduras, and the USA.

Throughout his illustrious playing career, Nino’s talent and consistency between the posts were widely recognized. He earned the “Best Goalkeeper” award in prestigious tournaments like the Verizon Cup and Disney’s Cup in Orlando, FL. A standout moment came when he was selected as the best U23 Goalkeeper in the south side of Colombia, a testament to his exceptional skill and potential during his youth.

Beyond his playing days, Nino has dedicated over two decades to coaching young players. He has worked with kids ranging from 9 to 18 years old, focusing on both goalkeeper training and general team coaching. Nino’s coaching experience encompasses various roles, including positions at Atlanta Fire as Goalkeeper Coach (U12 to U16), and All-In FC and U11 Academy and Goalkeeper Coach. He has also coached select teams in the Georgia Premier League (GPL) and Elite Academy League (EA), consistently helping players reach new levels.

Nino’s journey as a Goalkeeper Coach began in Colombia in 2000. His dedication to the sport and coaching is evident in his ongoing commitment to developing young talent in Georgia, where he has been based for most of his coaching career. With over 20 years as a Goalkeeper Coach and more than 15 years as a team coach, Nino’s influence extends far beyond his playing days, as he continues to shape the future of soccer in our region.
