Code of Conduct

FC Sudamerica strives to uphold high standards of conduct both on and off the field, embodying good sportsmanship, mutual respect, responsibility, fairness, compassion, and responsible citizenship. We kindly request all players and parents who participate in FC Sudamerica events to embody these character traits in all activities, including games and training sessions. We will hold all players and parents accountable for adhering to our Code of Conduct.

For the Player

By becoming a member of FC Sudamerica, players agree to:

1. Conduct themselves with respect and sportsmanship at all times, both on and off the field.

2. Attend all practice sessions and games, following the coaches’ instructions. If you can’t attend a game or practice, notify the coach well in advance.

3. Refrain from disruptive or disrespectful behavior during practice sessions or games. This includes any behavior towards teammates, opposing players, coaches, referees, or spectators.

4. Avoid bullying, antagonism, foul language, or any form of intimidation towards teammates or opposing players.

5. Show a willingness to learn and actively participate in drills, exercises, and scrimmages.

6. Understand that your team placement may not always align with your personal preferences. The coaches’ decision is final.

7. Adhere to the dress code at all times. Wear the correct shirt, shorts, and socks for both practices and games.

8. Keep playing areas and sidelines clean and dispose of all waste and trash properly. Arrange your player equipment neatly next to or behind the player bench.

9. Represent our soccer club and community respectfully at all games and practices.

10. Players who fail to meet the expectations outlined above and the adopted Player Code of Conduct will face disciplinary action, which may include being prohibited from playing or practicing.

For the Parent

1. Be a positive role model for my child and teammates during practices, games, and any other FC Sudamerica sponsored event.

2. Show respect for the staff, officials, and their authority during games. Adhere to the ’24-hour rule’ and refrain from approaching coaches or club directors with game-related questions for at least 24 hours after the game ends.

3. Inform the coach of any physical disabilities or ailments that could affect my player’s safety or the safety of others.

4. Avoid coaching my player or other players from the sidelines during games and practices, unless I’m officially designated as a team coach.

5. Demonstrate sportsmanship by showing respect, courtesy, and positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every FC Sudamerica event.

6. Refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct, including booing, taunting, using profane language, or gestures, towards any official, coach, player, or parent.

7. Teach my player to play by the rules and resolve conflicts peacefully. Encourage positive behavior that prioritizes skill development and practices over winning.

8. Ensure that my player treats everyone, regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability, with respect.

9. Emphasize the benefits of skill development and practices over winning.

10. Provide a sports-friendly environment for my player, free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol. Refrain from using them at any FC Sudamerica event.

11. Adhere to the rules and guidelines outlined above. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to, the following:

12. Verbal warning issued by an official, head coach, and/or the President and/or Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of FC Sudamerica or Youth Soccer Associations.

Written warning:

Probation with written documentation of the incident, which will be kept on file with FC Sudamerica and/or Youth Soccer Associations;

Suspension from a game(s) with written documentation of the incident, which will be kept on file with FC Sudamerica and/or Youth Soccer Associations;

Any other action deemed necessary and/or appropriate by the Disciplinary Committee, with written documentation of the incident, which will be kept on file with FC Sudamerica and/or Youth Soccer Associations.
